The customer portal is a “view” of the MioWorks web application for clients, prospects and vendors. Through the portal the contact is able to access information & interact with your company. By providing a customer portal you increase client access to you and to information while reducing the amount of time you spend performing administrative functions like searching for documents, emailing information and updating profile information.
The customer portal is automatically activated when you select “ACTIVATE” from the contact detail record within the business view of MioWorks.com. Once activated the contact will receive an email with the web address of the portal as well as logon id and password. The first time the contact logs into the portal they will be asked to change their password.
The customer portal provides you with the ability to upload your own company logo as well as define the welcome title. You may also create a (1) welcome message as well as a (2) special offer or news update. You define which elements of the portal are active for the contacts. You can turn on/off each main functional element. This means that if you only want to provide file upload/download you can do that. If you don’t want clients updating their own profiles, you can turn that function off. All of these settings as well as the editor for the message boxes can be found in the Portal Administration page.
The standard customer portal has a different look (view) than what you see when you log into MioWorks.com as a business user. The customer portal simplifies the interaction points and only provides the needed elements to ensure that clients can easily interact and get the job done.
The customer portal provides three major function sets today. They include the issue management system (3), the file management system (4) and the profile management system(5).
