About Contact Types

Each contact type is configured to provide the small business with an easy way to track information about that type of person. A contact record allows the small business to track address information, telephone numbers, web sites, etc.   Currently the contact types for prospect, customer, supplier and general are all the same but may change in the future to provide individualized fields or capabilities. You may use these different contact types to help you better organize the people the business interacts with.

One difference that you will see right now regarding contact types is with the Employee type.  The contact record for employee has an additional block of fields that allows the small business to track employee specific information as well as the capability to setup a MioWorks.com account for the employee.   Below is a picture of the additional field available on the employee contact type:

The small business may choose to store infomation about employees in MioWorks to help centralize the important information of the business.
