Security permissions

The access to each individual contact can be controlled.  This allows companies to ensure that contact data isn’t shared with the other MioUsers within a company.  This protection cis important when information access should be limited in scope to meet regulatory or privacy requirements.

The security permissions flow through all the information associated with a contact.  This includes notes, files, issues and tasks.  The security is also coordinated with the universal search system so that protected information is never displayed to unauthorized users.

To determine the MioUsers who may access a contact record (as well as all of their associated information), the owner of the account or the MioUser Admin must set the appropriate permissions.  To do this, edit the contact record details and look half way down the form for the “viewable by” field. (this can also be done when adding a new contact)

clicking on the text link “select users” will display all of the available MioUsers.  By clicking the check box next to a line item, you will enable access for that person.  By default all contact records start with access for all MioUsers.  (the contact type EMPLOYEE does not, it started with only the creator of the record with access).

It is important to note that an ADMINISTRATIVE user always has full access to all contact records.  Therefore if security segmentation is important, the company must limit the assignment of the administrator role.
